Jonathan graduated from the University of Oxford with a first class honours Master of Mathematics degree. This provided a solid foundation for him to develop and validate methods of making meaning from electroencephalogram (EEG) data in the context of consumer responses to visual stimuli, fragrances and flavours, while he was a lecturer at Republic Polytechnic. As a lecturer, he also developed and taught modules in Mathematics and Computing, Economics, Business Statistics and Quantitative Research Methods. Driven by his interest in the commercial application of his research, he joined his long time collaborators, the Consumer & Market Insight Team at Symrise Asia Pacific, where he now focuses on integrating a battery of neuroscience methods along with traditional consumer research in order to guide fragrance and cosmetic ingredient development.
